The so-called clumsy child also falls under the care pupils. The child who is less able to move naturally and is therefore hindered in playing, learning or taking care of himself. The child who has to put in a lot of extra effort and energy for skills that his or her classmates seem to develop automatically. This is about the students with DCD, Developmental Coordination Disorder, a motor coordination disorder.

To be able to adequately guide a student with DCD in the classroom, a teacher needs more background information about the disorder. In the DCD Help Guide for teachers, this information is clearly described and explained with many practical examples.
The practical advice for general and more specific situations is provided as possible helping ideas, with the aim that the child with DCD can achieve more positive results on the school skills.
