Overall objectives of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What are the overall broader objectives to which the action will contribute?) 

Materials were developed as a result of project "Students with functional disabilities support system development". The goal of the project was to develop support system for teachers and parents working with students with special needs to ensure quality education and promote inclusive education standards. Developed interactive materials, work sheets, work books and other materials were intended to support students with different learning disorders as well as special needs.

The material helps teachers, speech therapists, special education teachers and others support student language development: speech, reading, sound and letter differentiation skills.

Development of the materials for students with mixed developmental disorders started as a branch of project "Students with functional disabilities support system development" held in Latvia in 2012. One of the projects outputs was educational material development for students with special needs. As a result many teachers, psychologists, special education teachers, speech therapists and other specialists were involved to develop applicable and necessary materials for teachers to deal with different educational problems in classroom.

Specific purpose of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What specific objective is the resource intended to achieve to contribute to the overall objectives?) 

Work sheets and text book are aiming to improve student with mixed development disorders speech formation, sound and letter differentiation skills, vocabulary expansion and counting skills. Materials are supplemented with methodological material for educators explaining the idea of material usage in educational landscape.

1. Firstly project supported 3 Special Education Laboratory development in Latvia. The laboratories were provided with experts in teacher education and pedagogy. These laboratories are involved and leading researches about educator needs working with students with functional disabilities as well as developing teacher further education programs.

2. Secondly the existing situation was explored defining student with disabilities and their teacher needs to provide quality education.

3. Thirdly Special Education Laboratories developed interactive materials, work sheets and work books regarding educator needs working with students with functional disabilities.

4. Fourthly developed materials were approbated in Special Education Laboratories and edited versions introduced to teachers.
