Methodological recommendations are developed for educators and support team professionals are designed to better plan and organize pedagogical work with learners who need assistance with the learning process.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the key indicators related to the overall objectives?) 

Methodological recommendations guides trough development necessities and key aspects of support team development in educational institution. Support team specialists are are encouraged to be open to collaboration and inviting subject teachers, educational staff, education specialists, NGO representatives, youth inspectors, local government, custody staff, and other consultants to address specific issues.

The Education Development Guidelines 2014-2020 (of Latvia) define inclusive education as the process of meeting the diverse needs of all learners by increasing the every learner participation in the learning process, culture and communities, and reducing exclusion from education and training.

Specific purpose of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What specific objective is the resource intended to achieve to contribute to the overall objectives?) 

In order to better achieve the goals of inclusive education and to help every learner  get quality education, educational institutions can develop support teams. The support team is a group of specialists who, within their competence, coordinate and provide pedagogical, psychological and social assistance to learners, involving their parents, educators and educational staff.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (Which indicators clearly show that the objective of the actions/resource has been achieved?) 

Schools can use material to develop its support team depending on the specifics of the educational institution. The support team may include different professionals working in the institution and encourage other methodological and teacher staff to take part in support team.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of  information that exist or can be collected? What are the methods required to get this information?) 

Risks and Challenges: (Which factors and conditions outside the user's responsibility are necessary to achieve that objective? (external conditions)) Which risks should be taken into consideration?  

The Support Team shall comply with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia (Education Law, General Education Law, Personal Data Protection Law, Children's Rights Protection Law, UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Article 24 - Education).


Expected results on implementation of the resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (The results are the outputs envisaged to upscale. What are the expected results?) 

The school support team plays an important role in assessing the pupil's special needs and selecting the support measures required. A good decision of the support team will give the pupil the opportunity to show their knowledge and skills and to feel equal with other pupils.

The support team in the educational institution shall be formed and its composition changed by order of the director of the institution, the goals, tasks and organization of work of the team shall be determined by its rules of procedure.
