Overall objectives of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What are the overall broader objectives to which the action will contribute?)

Lately, attention to inclusive education in India has been increasing, however the main problem regarding it is still lack of knowledge and skills among teachers that might help them to appropriately transit classroom organization to inclusive one. This research paper discuss the results of educational programme for teachers for the successful process of inclusiveness.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the key indicators related to the overall objectives?)

Giving possibilities for teachers to be familiar with the next concepts:

a) Inclusive education and its legal aspects

b) Basic information about disabilities

c) Skills and competencies required for inclusive education.

After learning above-mentioned information, teachers are welcomed to discuss their progress and share their ideas regarding the following steps on inclusive processes in their schools.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of information for these indicators?)

India approved the legislation Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities and Full Participation) Act, 1995 (PWD Act) to provide access to free education in an appropriate environment to all students with special needs till the learner reaches the age of eighteen years.

Risks and Challenges:

The biggest problem in India for inclusion of children with disabilities is law level of skills and knowledge among school staff. Most educational centers do not have the suitable surrounding to make children with special needs feel comfortable and confident.

Specific purpose of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What specific objective is the resource intended to achieve to contribute to the overall objectives?)

The special test was designed for the teachers to asses their awareness of inclusive education and diverse strategies connected to it. Based on the results of this test, treatment and specific courses shall be conducted to improve knowledge of teachers.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (Which indicators clearly show that the objective of the actions/resource has been achieved?)

The teachers gained appropriate knowledge about various sides of inclusive education. The outcome of this research showed that use of interactive methods or techniques is effective in developing awareness about inclusive education.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of  information that exist or can be collected? What are the methods required to get this information?)

Risks and Challenges: (Which factors and conditions outside the user's responsibility are necessary to achieve that objective? (external conditions)) Which risks should be taken into consideration?

The activities that have been conducted during the experiment are not enough for complete inclusive education. Teachers and school authorities shall be permanently involved in educational process and shall also draw attention of other students and their families to these problems.

Expected results on implementation of the resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (The results are the outputs envisaged to upscale. What are the expected results?)

Preservice teacher community should be responsible for training teachers on the matter of inclusive education. Nowadays situation requires teachers to be confident, and qualified to control any situation in inclusive educational system.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the indicators to measure whether and to what extent the action/resource achieves the expected results?)

Preservice teachers also understood that for complete and ongoing successful process of inclusion, various adaptations in the environment and additional instructions are necessary. This activities can also reduce the psychological and social obstacles for both teachers and students. Apart from that, they pointed out that teacher-assisted and peer-group learning are the best methods useful for students with disabilities.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the available sources of information for these indicators?)

Risks and Challenges: (What external conditions must be met to obtain the expected results on schedule?)

There is a lack of resources and infrastructure in India that can facilitate the inclusion processes. For that reason, additional meetings should be organized to bring more funding and awareness of society.

Also, instruction, materials, and assessments to be made on a regular basis  to all students and teachers.

Activities

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What are the key activities to be carried out and in what sequence in order to reach the expected results?)

To improve knowledge on the topics of inclusive education, various interactive methods shall be used. This methods might include discussions, case studies, presentations, educational videos, field trips and group workshops.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the means required to implement these activities, e.g. personnel, equipment, training, studies, supplies, operational facilities, etc.)

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of information about action progress?)

The experiment has been conducted in order to obtain information on Indian teachers awareness of inclusive education models.

Risks and Challenges: (What pre-conditions are required before the use of the resource starts? What conditions outside the user's direct control have to be met for the implementation of the planned activities?)

The eagerness and readiness of school communities and teachers to welcome students with special needs are not enough to achieve this goal; resources and equipment are needed, as well.
