Overall objectives of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What are the overall broader objectives to which the action will contribute?)

Is examine how ICT-AT is used by people with disabilities,  develop a unified curriculum for the ICT - AT training of person with disabitlies and create a new job profile of ICTAT.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the key indicators related to the overall objectives?)

The curriculum is design based on the user need in this case the person with disabilities and it has 4 different skill levels in order to address the needs of different groups.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of information for these indicators?)

ATLEC first undertook research into the needs of people with disabilities combined with a state of the art analysis into the ICT-AT training  and an evaluation of the quality of the training they have received then they have been working with people with disabilities and other stakeholders, to create the curriculum for AT ICT and finally to create the job profile for ICT AT Trainer.

Risks and Challenges:

Specific purpose of the inclusive learning resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What specific objective is the resource intended to achieve to contribute to the overall objectives?)

1. Analyse the use of ICT - AT by people with disabilities. 2. Examine the training they received that enables them to use it. 3.Examine if they use their equipment to their full potential after a training. 4. Examine the possibility of people with disabilities to gain employment if they were trained to support other learners with disabilities in the use of ICT-AT 5.Develop a unified curriculum for the ICT - AT training of person with disabilities with 4 different levels

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (Which indicators clearly show that the objective of the actions/resource has been achieved?)

1. The training seems to have attract lots of participants.  2. During the training participants seems motivated and they don't face any obstacles. 3. After the training participants comments where positive regarding the content of the training, the trainer and in general with the whole training experience. 4. They feel more positive regarding the possibilities of gaining employment.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of  information that exist or can be collected? What are the methods required to get this information?)

First a state of the art research was contacted by experts in disability from Belgium, Greece, Italy and UK.  The state of the Art and Research Analysis was relating to ICT-AT, which include: a. Provision and usage of ICT-AT products and services in the consortium countries, b. Barriers and Opportunities associated to access to employment with the use of AT-ICT. c.Inform a unified curriculum in the training of people with disabilties to become experts in the field of ICT-AT

Additionally an Online survey was contacted for 6 months and was aimed to get information from people with special needs, ICT-AT providers, parents/carers of people with special needs, etc. Also, focus groups as this was useful for people with special needs who where having difficulties to access the online survey. The survey has had 978 respondents from those 396 have answer all questions.

Risks and Challenges: (Which factors and conditions outside the user's responsibility are necessary to achieve that objective? (external conditions)) Which risks should be taken into consideration?

Some participants are more sensitive so lot's of time they are discouraged  so the language during the training should encourage participants to do their best effort. The trainer should make sure that all participants are follow with the training. He need's to know what are the expectation of each participant before even starting the training and make clear to all of them what are the expected outcomes of this training. He need to evaluate his participants during the training with different modes in order to secure that everybody in following and it is good to have at the end of the training a self evaluation  for each participant (in different forms, in order to be accessible to all) An evaluation form anonymously for the training in general is also good as participant will have the opportunity to write their opinion regarding their trainer, the training environment, the training content, write suggestions or comments etc. With this the trainer will know if he needs to make further improvements.

Expected results on implementation of the resource

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (The results are the outputs envisaged to upscale. What are the expected results?)

1. Survey Questionnaire. 2. State of the Art and Research Analysis relating to ICT-AT, which include: a. Provision and usage of ICT-AT products and services in the consortium countries, b. Barriers and Opportunities associated to access to employment with the use of AT-ICT. c.Inform a unified curriculum in the training of people with disabilities to become experts in the field of ICT-AT 3.Curriculum and Handbook, 4. Training Courses, 5.Mobile Learning Application 6. Job profile (qualifying people with disabilities as ICT AT trainers).

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the indicators to measure whether and to what extent the action/resource achieves the expected results?)

1. The trainer will evaluate the participants before the training, during the training and after the training so he can compare the results from the first day to the last day of the training. This is regarding the training content. 2. Participants will evaluate how they have experience the training anonymously so this will give feedback on how satisfy they feel with the training. 3. Also, participants can evaluate if the training had help them to gain more employability opportunities.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the available sources of information for these indicators?)

ATLEC (Assistive Technology Learning Through A Unified Curriculum - 518229-LLP-1-2011-1-UK-LEONARDO-LMP)

Risks and Challenges: (What external conditions must be met to obtain the expected results on schedule?)

Accessible training environment with all facilities that a person with disability might need.

Price of the training should not discourage a person to take part in the training. The training should offer a certificate that the user can use of it in order to gain employability opportunities.

Activities

Inclusive learning intervention logic: (What are the key activities to be carried out and in what sequence in order to reach the expected results?)

Within the ATLEC project a unified curriculum for the ICT-AT training of persons with disabilities has been developed. The Curriculum refers to the aforementioned four levels of the ICT AT competence framework:

 Access: This level is relevant for persons with disabilities (and their immediate support network: formal and informal carers, educators) who aim towards having awareness of the use of personal ICT-AT solutions and very basic skills in using them, where necessary with high levels of support.

 Foundation: This level is relevant for persons with disabilities who aim towards having basic knowledge of personal ICT-AT solutions and adequate skills in using them proficiently with little or no support.

 Intermediate: This level is relevant for persons with disabilities who aim towards having in-depth knowledge and critical awareness of personal ICT-AT solutions and proficient skills in using these independently to increase their level of activity and participation.

 Advanced: This level is relevant for persons with disabilities who aim towards having wider knowledge on ICT-AT solutions for a wide range of other users in order to be able to support them appropriately.

Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement: (What are the means required to implement these activities, e.g. personnel, equipment, training, studies, supplies, operational facilities, etc.)

In order to run the training you will need:

1. Accessible place to run the training which offers facilities for different user needs.

2. The place should have also first aid kit and quick access to medical staff (it can be near to a medical center or hospital) as people with special need are more vulnerable for health related issues.

3. The trainer should have the qualification to run the training and he need to have experience teaching adults with special needs as with adults with special needs.

4. The training material should be accessible from all users.

5. You need also to consider that usually people with special needs are coming to the training with a carer so you need to consider this on the space of the class and in the other expenses.

6. Assistive tools for the user to have the opportunity to make practice.

7. The classroom sitting arrangement is something that you need to take into consideration for ex. for group activities a horseshoe shape might be more suitable.

8. Classroom should have also lots of electric socket.

Sources and means of verification: (What are the sources of information about action progress?)

Staff cost, Assistive Technology Tools, Classroom cost

Risks and Challenges: (What pre-conditions are required before the use of the resource starts? What conditions outside the user's direct control have to be met for the implementation of the planned activities?)

Training content and environment needs to be accessible to all participants. Different range of learning methods should be used in order to address the diversity needs of participants. Groups should be small in order to make more efficient training, Users need to have access to use  different tools. The session should be more practical rather than theoretical.
