Description of good practice:
BRAC has implemented a few good practice for inclusive education. Their school features are discussed below:

1. The schools are well lighted, low roof, bamboo, a single class in a single room. The class and the school upgrade itself to the next grade as the time progresses.
2. Contact hours- 3 hours up to class III, 4 hours for class IV and V. The school operates for 6 days a week and there are 270 working days in a year.
3. One teacher teaches 30-35 students of which 50 to 70 percent are girls.
4. Women teachers are employed from the local area. The minimum qualification is SSC. All teachers are provided in service training with a focus on using active learning approaches in the classrooms.
5. Teachers work in double shifts.
6. The schools do not follow the government textbook. The teachers use books based on the BRAC curriculum. Science, Math, Social Science and Languages (English and Bangla) are taught.
7. Children sit on the floor facing each other.
8. The classrooms are tidy with display of children's work and teaching aids accessible but in limited use. Attempts are made to use active teaching learning methodologies and involve children in the learning process. Children are mostly found confidents interacting with the visitors.
9. Graduates are mainstreamed to the formal education.
